Let me start by saying that I think its extremely funny that even though my last name is smith I had to register a GMail with the name Jones because every Smith combination was taken.
I have been a lurker on many blogs for about a year and I thought well let me jump in whats the worst that can happen? You chase me with flaming sticks? So here I go.
My first page I will come clean which is kind of frightening for me right now. We have just come to terms with the numbers and are getting our ducks in order. I just wish there weren't so many duck's right now.
Home: 42,000.00 We purchased this house 20 years ago at a great price. Now we just need to pay it off.
Credit Cards: 7000.00 Not to scary a number but scary enough for me
Car payment: We have two cars. One paid for and one brand new, which was purchased before reality hit us in the face. My Equinox, which I love has a monthly payment of 410.00 a month since we financed for four years.
School Loans: My husband and I owe about 9000.00 left on our school loans. But we did sign a plus loan for our two oldest children so even though they are going to pay for it we are already making payments.
Cable: As of today we no longer have it.
Cell phones: We have 5 of them. There is still 6 months left in our contract so we will be looking towards prepay phones then.
There are other bills such as food and utilities and I will get into them as I go on. We are a family of 5. Both my husband and I are nurses. Our children are getting older (22-15) and we need to pay off our debt, get our retirement in order and be ready for whatever life is going to throw at us next.
